Accountability? From Susan Rice? Spare Me.

Susan Rice warning corporations about “accountability” is one of those moments where you genuinely have to check if it’s satire.

This is a woman who faced zero accountability for Benghazi spin. Zero accountability for intelligence abuses. Zero accountability for anything that happened on her watch in two Democratic administrations. And now she’s out here threatening corporations because some of them refuse to actively resist President Trump?.

We know this game. Democrats don’t want neutral corporations. They want compliant ones. Echo the message. Fund the causes. Oppose Trump loudly enough. Or else.

And here’s where the hypocrisy gets rich.

Rice says companies will “pay the consequences” when Democrats return to power. Totally fine, apparently. But when President Trump responded by demanding that Netflix fire her from its board over those comments, suddenly it’s authoritarianism. Suddenly, it’s a threat to democracy.

Board member does not mean neutral actor. Rice is a former Obama and Biden official openly advocating an “accountability agenda” against entities that don’t toe the Democratic line. When partisan operatives sit on major corporate boards and talk about punishing political opponents, voters notice. Americans are tired of corporations acting like political enforcement arms for one side.

And let’s be honest about the larger context. Any renewed talk of impeaching Trump or punishing his supporters has nothing to do with accountability. It’s the same tired playbook they’ve run since 2016: investigate, impeach, indict, repeat. Not because it works. Not because voters demand it. But because it’s the only strategy they seem to know.
